Like many others did around this time, I became a full-time remote worker starting March 17, 2020. For Matchbox, not only was this the start of the pandemic, but it was our new way of working. Within just a few months, we knew we were never going back into an office.

Since this time, Matchbox has grown into a fully-remote and fully-distributed team. This allowed me to embrace the digital nomad life I’ve dreamed of for years.

In this series, I’ll explore triumphs and challenges of leading a remote company. We’ll review the gear my team and I use to make our home offices a bit more comfortable, tips for those interested in becoming digital nomads and guidance for setting work/life boundaries.
